Three Generations, One Store: A Family’s Love for Barbara Katz

At Barbara Katz in Boca Raton, fashion is more than just style - it’s a shared experience that spans generations. We sat down with a grandmother, mother, and granddaughter to talk about what makes their shopping trips to our store so memorable.

Q: What do you love most about shopping at Barbara Katz together?

Irma (Grandmother): Barbara Katz is so classy and always has such great taste in fashion.

Lauren (Granddaughter): Shopping here has become a special tradition for me, my mom, and my grandma.

 

Q: When did you first discover the store as a family?

Nina (Daughter): I discovered Barbara Katz while visiting my mother in South Florida. I always admired her wardrobe.

 

Q: How would you describe the Barbara Katz experience in one word?

Irma: Comfortable.

Nina: Beauty.

Lauren: Excitement.

 

Q: Is shopping here a family tradition now?

All: Absolutely! Every time Nina and Lauren visit Irma, the first thing on their list is a shopping trip to Barbara Katz!

 

Q: How would you each describe your personal style?

Irma: Universal; creative.

Nina: Classic; refined.

Lauren: Funky; fun.

Lauren: I find my fashion inspiration in old photos of my grandmother from back in the day.

Nina: My daughter Lauren has always had a unique sense of style and has been expressing herself through fashion from a young age.

 

Q: Who gives the best fashion advice? Who takes the longest in the fitting room?

Irma and Nina: Lauren always gives the best fashion advice! We love collaborating with her while getting ready during their trips to Florida. Lauren might take the longest in the fitting room, but we always reunite at the registers with smiles and great finds.

 

Q: Have any of you ever worn the same outfit or styled it completely differently?

Nina: No, not usually! Since our styles are all so different, we try not to buy the same pieces. But every now and then, my mom and I can’t resist picking out the same item!

 

Q: Is there a brand or designer you always look for when you walk in?

Irma: For me, it’s not about the brand or designer - it’s about having a great salesperson who understands your wants and needs and helps guide you to the perfect pieces.

Nina: I always keep an eye out for the Barbara Katz private label, J Society, and Elliott Lauren. I'm always on the hunt for a great sweater to wear in the city!

Lauren: I love shopping for brands like Mother, Frame, and Pistola.

 

Q: Do you come for something specific, like event wear or vacation looks, or just to browse?

Lauren: We come to shop, share laughs, and enjoy each other's company.

 

Q: How do the stylists help you find looks that flatter three different generations?

Irma, Nina, and Lauren: We love shopping with our stylist, Mirtha. Despite being from different generations and having different body types, she has an amazing eye for what flatters all of us and always knows how to make us look and feel our best.

 

Q: What would you tell other families about the joy of shopping together at Barbara Katz?

Lauren: Barbara Katz has such a warm atmosphere - it just makes you feel good. That’s what family bonds feel like.

Nina: I love the laughter and the joy of finding pieces we all love, even though our styles are so different. I won’t shop in New York anymore because I’d rather wait to shop at Barbara Katz!

Irma: I appreciate that the experience feels personal and special!
